| Black Aces Handed 5-2 Loss by Pittsburgh | The Pittsburgh Ambassadors topped the Houston Black Aces, 5-2, in Phoenix Baseball League action at Allegheny Park. The game was highlighted by the performance of Pittsburgh pitcher Bobby Shantz. Clay Bryant notched his 15th save in 16 chances. Pittsburgh, at 30-33, sits in 6th place in the PBL.
The Ambassadors got an important contribution from third baseman Bob Dillinger, who in the bottom of the third punched a 0-1 changeup into left-center for a run-scoring triple. It was his 2nd triple of the season and put the Ambassadors ahead, 2-0.
Shantz told a Pittsburgh News reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
