The Philadelphia Stars beat the Houston Black Aces, 14-11, at Aces Pavillion. Philadelphia second baseman Jimmy T Williams had an outstanding performance. He was 3 for 3 with a home run, a double, 2 walks, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 6. The winner was Philadelphia reliever Willie Powell, now 4-2. The loser was Willie Foster.

With Philadelphia trailing 8-6 in the top of the sixth, Williams hit a 3-run home run off Houston hurler Willie Foster. It was the 9th home run of the season for Williams and put his team ahead, 9-8.

"We'll savor this win," Williams told the Philadelphia Bulletin, "then get ready for the next game."

The win puts the Stars at 61-64, while the Black Aces drop to 76-49.
