| Cubs Zip Past Stars, 7-1 | Josh Naylor was instrumental in his team's 7-1 triumph over the Philadelphia Stars. The left fielder went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Seattle Cubs. Hansel Robles earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2.1 innings. His record is now 2-4. The Cubs go to 53-77 with the win.
Having an impact for Seattle was Podge Weihe. In the bottom of the sixth inning, the 27-year old second baseman had a run-scoring sacrifice fly to make the score 3-1, Cubs.
"I'm proud to be a part of what we've got going on here," Weihe told the Seattle Gazette. "It's a great group and we're happy with the win."
