| Headhunters Bridle Ghostriders, 4-3 | Despite a fine performance by designated hitter Randy S Johnson, the Richmond Ghostriders suffered a 4-3 loss to the Rancho Cucamonga Headhunters. Johnson went 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Jack Taschner got credit for the win, improving to 2-0. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2.1 innings. Dave Beard, credited with the save, is now 19 for 20 in save opportunities.
Making an impact for the home team was Paul Householder. In the bottom of the sixth, the 23-year old right fielder had a run-scoring ground out. That made the score 4-3, Headhunters.
"We'll savor this win," Householder told the Rancho Cucamonga Today, "then get ready for the next game."
The win boosts the Headhunters to 66-46. The loss puts the Ghostriders at 69-43.
