| San Diego's Steinfeldt Hammers #200 | Harry Steinfeldt circled the bases and raised his arm in triumph. He had finally hit his 200th home run. It was a homer for a lot of people: himself, his teammates past and present, his former managers and coaches, and especially his family, who sat near the plate cheering his every at-bat during the past few games.
Steinfeldt spoke with BNN and said, "I knew number 200 would come sooner or later. I had to keep reminding myself, 'Relax, relax, just let it happen, let it happen.' And it finally did."
His milestone homer came in the San Diego Padres 6-0 win over the Texas Rangers. Steinfeldt went 2 for 4 in the game, scored 2 runs, and batted in 4.
Over his 1752-game career Steinfeldt has compiled a .277 batting average and collected 1891 hits, 200 home runs and 1053 RBIs. | | |  | |
