| Black Aces Solve Rangers, 5-2 | Houston and Texas duked it out and the Black Aces came out victorious.
The Texas Rangers went down to defeat to Vinegar Bend Mizell and his Houston teammates. The final score was 5-2 in favor of the Black Aces. Mizell went 5 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 2, and struck out 4. His record improves to 1-0.
Tony Lazzeri contributed to the Houston win. The 25-year old second baseman stroked a run-scoring double in the bottom of the third. For the game, Lazzeri was 2 for 3 with a double and was hit by a pitch, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"If I go out there and help the team win, that's all you can do," said Mizell.
Texas falls to 8-6.
