| New York Win Eliminator Round Wednesday, October 6th, 1999 David Wright put the New York Yankees on his shoulders as they downed the Philadelphia Stars in the Eliminator Round.
New York won the deciding game by a 10-0 count at Yankee Stadium I and wrapped up the series 4-2.
Wright played a key role in the victory, as he was named series MVP for his offensive output, which included a .346 batting average with a .414 on-base percentage, 3 home runs, 13 RBI and 8 runs scored.
"I told myself it was time to step it up and help the team win and I'm glad I was able to do that," he said.
