 | Martin Wins BBL's Best Bat Trophy Sunday, September 1st, 1996 Pepper Martin of the Virginia Beach Blue Claws said he feels just as good now as he did five or ten years ago in his career. That much seems obvious, as even at the age of 38, the right fielder put up a fantastic month and has been named the Bad Boyz League Batter of the Month for August. On the month, Martin batted .393, hit 5 home runs, drove in 20 runs, scored 20 times and compiled a .453 on-base percentage.
