| Riverdogs Listless in 6-0 Loss to Giants Sunday, July 25th, 1999 Nick Blackburn of the Montgomery Giants spun his magic on the Charleston Riverdogs today. He blanked them 6-0 on 5 hits, registering 5 strikeouts and 1 walk.
"The bottom line was I just kept the ball down," Blackburn said. "My breaking stuff was down. Everything was down."
Talking to reporters in the postgame interview, Montgomery skipper Jim Rooker said the team "got solid pitching, good defense and took great team at-bats in a lot of different situations."
"Nick pitched really well but this was a solid performance by everyone," he said.
To date this season, Blackburn has a record of 13 wins and 6 losses and a 2.55 ERA. He has appeared in 24 games and struck out 100 in 166 innings.
