 | No Late-Season Magic Coming: Vancouver Out of Playoffs Wednesday, August 11th, 1999 It "never gets easier" to have a playoff push come to an end, according to right fielder Nate Schierholtz of the Vancouver Manatees. The Vancouver player said his club was banking on being able to push themselves into the postseason, but they are now mathematically eliminated. Before this season, the Manatees last missed the playoffs in 1997. In the 19 years they have been a Bad Boyz League franchise, they have missed the playoffs 18 times.
