Suarez Wins Award for BBL Dominance

Albert Suarez came out of the bullpen and worked through tough situations all year, and for his performance he's been named the recipient of the Bad Boyz League Reliever of the Year Award for 1999.

The 29-year-old out of San Felipe, Venezuela captured the award with 20 saves in 47 relief appearances, 63 strikeouts in 56.1 innings and a record of 3 wins and 5 losses to go with his 2.08 ERA.

"I'm thankful, it's a great honor," he told Baseball News Network.

He received 6 first place votes out of a possible 10. Steve Delabar of the Richmond Ghostriders finished second in voting with 4 first place votes, while Hank Fischer of the Montgomery Giants finished third.
