| Doubledays Blanked by McCrabb Tuesday, August 2nd, 1977 It wasn't easy but Les McCrabb made it look that way.
McCrabb silenced the Auburn Doubledays, 1-0, in a Charleston Riverdogs triumph at Ballpark of Harts today. Despite the appearance of dominance, McCrabb said later that he felt like he was struggling all game. He gave up 1 walk and 1 hit.
"It didn't feel quite right today, but I made the decision to bear down and work through it," he said. "I made a few mistakes but it goes to show what you can do with grit and not much else."
McCrabb has taken the mound for no relief appearances this season, nailing down no saves while notching a 8-10 record with a 3.01 ERA. The Charleston reliever has limited opposing batters to a .225 batting average.
