| Tiernan Blasts Ambassadors, Black Aces Take Game 3, 7-5 | With designated hitter Mike Tiernan leading the charge, the Houston Black Aces got a road win over the Pittsburgh Ambassadors, 7-5, in Game 3 of the Eliminator Round today. Tiernan was 1-3 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 4 runs and scored once at Allegheny Park to help Houston take a 2-1 lead in the best-of-7 series.
It could have been a different outcome for Houston, had it not been for Lonnie Chisenhall, the top prospect . Chisenhall contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put Houston up, 2-0.
"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Chisenhall.
The next game is scheduled for tomorrow at Allegheny Park in Pittsburgh. Slated to start are Ray Kremer for the Houston Black Aces and Larry Cheney for the the Pittsburgh Ambassadors.
