| Almost There: Houston On Cusp of Eliminator Round Triumph After 9-3 Win | Riding the 4-hit performance of first baseman Miguel Cabrera, the Houston Black Aces got a road win against the Pittsburgh Ambassadors, 9-3, in Game 4 of the Eliminator Round today. Cabrera went 4 for 5 with a double and 3 singles, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2 for the Black Aces, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 3 games to 1.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Kirby Puckett? The Houston center fielder had a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Black Aces on top, 3-0. For the game, Puckett had 2 doubles and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Houston skipper Jimi Patricola.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Allegheny Park in Pittsburgh. Slated to start are Willie Foster for Houston and Clayton Kershaw for Pittsburgh.
