| Houston Takes Series Lead in Low-Scoring Affair | The Houston Black Aces powered past the hometown Boston Pilgrims, 3-1, in the opener of the Challenger Round at Fenway Park II today. Houston starting pitcher Jack Fisher threw 6 innings of 3-hit ball, to lead the charge. The Black Aces now lead the series 1-0.
Houston catcher Bill Freehan pitched in with a 2-run home run in the top of the second. For the game, Freehan went 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"I like our moxie," said Black Aces manager Jimi Patricola.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Fenway Park II in Boston. Slated to start are Ray Kremer for the Houston Black Aces and Lee Richmond for the the Boston Pilgrims.
