| Road Win Lifts Franklinton to 2-1 Lead in R1 | The Franklinton Typhoon silenced the Anaheim Sailfish today to move within one game of the Round 2. The Typhoon shut out the Sailfish by a final score of 2-0 at Ballpark of Anaheim. Franklinton left-hander Tommy John was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 8 innings of shutout ball. The win gives the Typhoon a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-5 Round 1.
John was in the zone all game. He frustrated Anaheim hitters while giving the Typhoon 8.1 innings of quality work. John threw 133 pitches, allowing 5 hits and getting 3 punchouts.
"There's never a lack of effort in our clubhouse. We're willing to do the little things to get the win," John told the Franklinton Citizen.
Game 4 is scheduled for tomorrow at Ballpark of Anaheim. Slated to start are Bruce Hurst for the Franklinton Typhoon and Larry Gura for the the Anaheim Sailfish.
