Piniella, Blue Claws Sink Typhoon Again in Game 3
Riding the 4-hit performance of right fielder Lou Piniella, the Virginia Beach Blue Claws got a road win against the Franklinton Typhoon, 7-1, in Game 3 of the Round 2 today. Piniella went 4-4 with a home run and 2 doubles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4 for the Blue Claws, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 3 games to 0.

Piniella came through for the Blue Claws in the top of the fourth inning. With Virginia Beach trailing 1-0, the right fielder hit a 2-run home run. It made the score 2-1, Virginia Beach.

"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play even better," said Virginia Beach manager Hector Salazar.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow. The scheduled starters for the game are Jim Lonborg for Virginia Beach and Jeff C D'Amico for Franklinton.
