| Cubs Win to Extend Series Lead to 3-0 | The Seattle Cubs went into extra innings against the Houston Black Aces but ultimately moved to within one game of the Championship today. The Cubs downed the Black Aces at Astrodome by a score of 3-2. Seattle left-hander Scott McGregor was named player of the game after a solid outing in which he threw 8 innings of 7-hit ball. The win gives the Cubs a 3-0 advantage in the best-of-7 Divisional.
It could have been a different outcome for Seattle, had it not been for Ted Simmons, the 14-year veteran . Simmons contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the tenth inning to put Seattle up, 3-2.
McGregor called the win "a collective effort."
Game 4 is scheduled for tomorrow at Astrodome in Houston. Slated to start are Juan Eichelberger for Seattle and Mario Soto for Houston.
