| Multi-HR Day for Karros as Black Aces Overpower Pilgrims, 13-5 | The Houston Black Aces beat the Boston Pilgrims, 13-5, at Fenway Park II. Eric Karros, in particular, was impressive. He was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 6 RBI and scoring twice. Ben Sheets, 4-0, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 4 innings. The win hiked the Houston record to 23-17.
In the top of the sixth, Houston left fielder Michael Brantley took Boston pitcher Henry Boyle deep. His 2-run home run made the score 7-5, Black Aces. For the game, Brantley went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
