Freddie Fitzsimmons pitched well, but his team, the Boston Pilgrims, still dropped a 4-2 decision to the Texas Rangers at Fenway Park II. Texas reliever Charlie Parsons picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Freddie Fitzsimmons shouldered the loss. With the win, the Rangers hiked their record to 29-17.

J T Snow delivered for Texas in the top of the seventh. His solo home run off Boston pitcher Freddie Fitzsimmons put Texas in front, 3-2.

Snow called the win "what playing unselfish baseball looks like."
