Ambassadors Win in Glorious Fashion, 7-6 | The Pittsburgh Ambassadors faced a tough opponent in Texas pitcher Gene Bearden, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Allegheny Park by a final score of 7-6. Bearden went 6 innings and allowed 2 runs. The win belongs to Lynn Brenton in relief. His record improves to 2-2. Red Murff took the loss for Texas. Pittsburgh is now riding a 3-game win streak.
When he came to bat in the bottom of the ninth, Shannon Stewart had a chance to end it. Texas pitcher Ray Poat had other ideas. But with no outs, Stewart hit a sacrifice fly. The Ambassadors had the win.
