| Pilgrims Win, 7-0, Over San Diego | Boston Pilgrims starter Johnny Cueto pitched effectively against the San Diego Padres at Jack Murphy Stadium. The right-hander spearheaded his team's 7-0 win. San Diego is still trying to get off the schneid, having lost 6 in a row.
The Pilgrims got an important contribution from shortstop Jim Fregosi, who in the top of the fifth hit a 1-2 fastball into left for a 2-run double. It was his 14th double of the season and put the Pilgrims ahead, 5-0.
"We did a lot of things right," said Cueto.
