| San Diego Still On the Schneid After 10-1 Loss to Pilgrims | Boston Pilgrims starter Freddie Fitzsimmons was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the San Diego Padres, 10-1. Boston has run its win streak to 4 in a row.
The Pilgrims got an important contribution from second baseman Curt Flood, who in the top of the fifth knocked a 1-1 curveball into left for a bases-clearing double. It was his 5th double of the season and put the Pilgrims ahead, 4-0.
"I thought we were prepared," San Diego manager Jimmy O'Rourke said after the game. "I thought we'd be more competitive out there."
