Houston Pins 7-4 Loss on Ambassadors | The Houston Black Aces picked up a win at Allegheny Park, taking down the Pittsburgh Ambassadors, 7-4. Starting pitcher Arlie Pond was a big reason why. Houston reliever Harry C. Harper picked up the win, raising his record to 1-5. Michael Jackson was tagged with the loss. The win hiked the Houston record to 40-26.
The Black Aces used some clutch hitting to beat the Ambassadors, a good example being the at-bat of Ossie Bluege in the top of the ninth. With two down, Bluege gave his team the lead, 6-4, when he hit a 2-run double.
"We're feeling good in this clubhouse right now after that one," Bluege told the Houston Gazette. | | | | |
