| Cubs Earn 5-4 Win Versus Rangers | The Seattle Cubs bested the Texas Rangers, 5-4, at Arlington Stadium. Charlie Hollocher was one of the standouts. He went 3 for 5 with a double and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Monte Weaver, credited with the win, is now 3-1. He allowed no runs on 1 hit. Roy Sherid was credited with the save. The contest featured some late-game dramatics from Seattle designated hitter Justin Upton. In the top of the tenth inning, with two out and a runner on 1st, Upton hit a run-scoring double to help Seattle seize the win.
