Victory Takes Black Aces to 48-30 | Mike Tiernan made an impact in the 8-3 Houston win over Boston. Tiernan, who finished 3rd in the PBL in doubles with 37 in 1990, was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs. Houston reliever Ray Kremer got the win, raising his record to 4-1. Joaquin Benoit was tagged with the loss. The victory gives Houston a record of 48-30.
Lonnie Chisenhall had a timely hit in the bottom of the seventh inning. With one out and the bases loaded, the Houston third baseman hit a run-scoring single. That put the Black Aces in front, 8-3.
"It's always nice to be on the winning side," Tiernan told the Houston Gazette. "But we take nothing for granted." | | | | |
