| Pilgrims Rally For Late Win Over Rangers | The Boston Pilgrims defeated the Texas Rangers by the score of 9-6. Jim Fregosi starred for Boston, going 3-for-4 with 1 home run. The Pilgrims bumped their record to 47-33 with this latest triumph.
The contest featured some late-game dramatics from Boston shortstop Jim Fregosi. In the top of the ninth inning, with no one out and a runner on 1st, Fregosi hit a 2-run home run to help Boston seize the win.
"We'll savor this win," Fregosi told the Boston Daily News, "then get ready for the next game."
