| Ambassadors, Cheney Stonewall Texas, 7-0 | Larry Cheney of the Pittsburgh Ambassadors spun his magic on the Texas Rangers today. He blanked them 7-0 on 2 hits, registering 6 strikeouts and no walks.
"The bottom line was I just kept the ball down," Cheney said. "My breaking stuff was down. Everything was down."
Talking to reporters in the postgame interview, Pittsburgh skipper Paul Patricola said the team "got solid pitching, good defense and took great team at-bats in a lot of different situations."
"Larry pitched really well but this was a solid performance by everyone," he said.
