| Lazzeri, Black Aces Beat Cubs, 9-1 | Houston shortstop Tony Lazzeri contributed to his team's 9-1 win over the Seattle Cubs. Lazzeri, who is tied for 4th in the PBL in triples with 8, went 4 for 5 with 3 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Black Aces. The winning pitcher was Ray Kremer. His record is now 6-1. The right-hander went 5.1 innings, allowing 1 run on 4 hits for the Black Aces. The victory gives Houston a record of 58-39.
Lazzeri made an early impact for Houston when he stroked his 4th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which came in the top of the first, put the Black Aces on top, 2-0.
In postgame remarks, Black Aces manager Jimi Patricola lauded Lazzeri. "He's a good, young player. The future's bright for Tony."
