Black Aces Walk Off with 8-7 Win | The Houston Black Aces weathered an outstanding game by Pittsburgh right fielder Adam Dunn to topple the Ambassadors, 8-7. Dunn was 3 for 6 with a home run, 2 singles, and 3 walks, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Willie Foster, now 4-2, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3 innings. The Black Aces, now 62-40, have won 4 in a row.
The Black Aces relied on catcher Bill Freehan for the game-winning hit. And, in the bottom of the 18th, he delivered, hitting a run-scoring single to seal the deal.
"It's always a heck of a lot easier to get to sleep after a win," Freehan told the Houston Gazette. "I know I'll rest easy tonight." | | | | |
