| Ambassadors Turn Back Texas, 6-4 | The Pittsburgh Ambassadors topped the Texas Rangers, 6-4, in Phoenix Baseball League action at Allegheny Park. The standout performance belonged to Pittsburgh pitcher and Dallas, Texas, native Clayton Kershaw. Earning the save was Clay Bryant. He's now cashed in 29 of 33 save opportunities. With the win, the Ambassadors have a record of 61-69.
The Ambassadors grabbed the lead in the bottom of the sixth. With two out, Yordan Alvarez hit a solo home run off Gene Bearden, putting Pittsburgh in front, 3-1. For Alvarez, it was his 11th home run of the season.
In postgame comments to the Pittsburgh News, Alvarez said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
