Ambassadors Hand Padres 4-2 Loss | The Pittsburgh Ambassadors picked up a win at Jack Murphy Stadium, knocking off the San Diego Padres, 4-2. Starting pitcher Juan Marichal was a big reason why. In 6 innings, Marichal surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 2. He allowed 1 run. The 5th-place Ambassadors now have a win-loss record of 67-79.
It could have been a different outcome for Pittsburgh, had it not been for Adam Dunn, the 1998 PBL home run champion . Dunn contributed a 2-run single in the top of the third inning to put Pittsburgh up, 3-1.
"It was a solid team effort," Dunn said. "That's usually what it takes to win." | | | | |
