The Houston Black Aces and Texas Rangers treated fans to some rich drama.

The Texas Rangers got a sterling performance from pitcher Gene Bearden, but the Houston Black Aces still prevailed, 3-2. Bearden threw 7 innings of shutout ball. Ken Gables, 3-0, earned the win in relief. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 2.1 innings.

Lonnie Chisenhall won the game for Houston when homered off Steve Delabar in the bottom of the 12th.

"Put a star next to this win," Chisenhall said.

The win gives Houston a season record of 97-61.
