Black Aces Hammered by Alvarez, Drop Game 2 to Ambassadors
The Pittsburgh Ambassadors relied on the hitting of left fielder Yordan Alvarez to get by the Houston Black Aces, 16-6, in Game 2 of the Eliminator Round today. For the game, Alvarez went 4 for 4 with a home run, a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 3. The clubs are now tied, 1-1.

Willie Mays, the 1951 Topps Rookie of the Year Award winner , had a direct impact on the outcome. Mays contributed a run-scoring triple in the top of the second inning to put Pittsburgh up, 1-0.

"It feels good to get this one," Alvarez told the Pittsburgh News.

Game 3 is set to be played Saturday. Slated to start are Jack Fisher for the Houston Black Aces and Jimmy Dygert for the the Pittsburgh Ambassadors.
