Rangers Show Nerve in Tight 3-2 Win
Texas Rangers starter Gene Bearden turned in a sterling performance against the Pittsburgh Ambassadors, leading his team to a slim 3-2 win. The win gives Texas a record of 14-7.

Coming to the plate with no one out in the bottom of the ninth inning, Texas pinch hitter Gene Woodling had a chance to be the hero. Facing Pittsburgh pitcher Michael Jackson with the bases empty, Woodling, who is tied for 4th in the PBL in triples with 3, hit a walk-off solo home run.

"Coulda, shoulda, woulda," said Pittsburgh manager Paul Patricola. "We had our chances and didn't cash in."
