| Ambassadors Lose to Rangers, 11-2 | The Texas Rangers bested the Pittsburgh Ambassadors by a score of 11-2, with catcher Frank Fernandez getting the main credit. On the day, Fernandez was 3 for 5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Rangers. Tommy Bond got the win, improving to 3-0. He worked 5 innings, giving up 2 runs on 6 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 1. The Rangers raised their record to 15-7.
Kevin Reimer was 1 for 3 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for Texas. The 29-year old left fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Juan Marichal. It was his 4th RBI of the season.
"It was a solid team effort," said Fernandez after the game.
