| First Baseman Molitor Will Retire Friday, October 11th, 1996 The manager of the Tampon Bay Pussies said the sport will be losing one of its "truly great leaders" at the end of the year. That's because 40-year-old Paul Molitor has decided to retire at year's end.
"This is the type of guy you want on your team," the manager said. "He does everything the right way and leads by example. Our organization will miss him."
Lifetime Molitor has connected for 146 home runs, hit .294 and driven in 1020 runs. | | |
