 | Cleveland Out of Time, Out of Playoffs Monday, September 13th, 1999 The Cleveland Lake Monsters were stuck in the middle this season -- not competitive enough in the playoff chase to be considered relevant, but not far enough behind to be completely written off. Until now, that is -- today, the Lake Monsters were mathematically eliminated from playoff contention. Before this season, the Lake Monsters last missed the playoffs in 1994. In the 19 years they have been a Phoenix Baseball League franchise, they have missed the playoffs 5 times. In the last 10 years, they have missed the playoffs only once. Cleveland last won the PBL World Series in 1992. |   |
