AJE West AJE MVP Award Goes To Harper

What a way to finish off the year -- being honored with the 1977 AJE MVP Award in the Patricola Division. It had already been a very special season for Atlanta's Tommy Harper, but today's announcement really put the icing on his cake.

All season long Tommy Harper gave opposing pitchers fits by hitting .348 as he collected 206 hits, 37 doubles, 1 triple, 21 home runs and 112 RBIs.

He received 11 first place votes out of a possible 12. Paul Molitor of the Atlanta Scalpers finished second in voting, while Raul Mondesi of the St. Louis Cardinals finished third with 1 first place vote.
