Behind a fine performance from Mickey Mantle, the Boston Pilgrims knocked off the New York Yankees, 8-5. Mantle went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 3 times for the Pilgrims. The win puts Boston at 11-9.

Jorge Posada went 2 for 5 with 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI for Boston. In the bottom of the fifth, with the teams deadlocked, 2-2, Posada delivered for the Pilgrims. His 2-run single put Boston on top, 4-2.

"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Mantle said.
