| Philadelphia Doubles Up Texas, 8-4 | The Philadelphia Stars topped the Texas Rangers, 8-4, in Phoenix Baseball League action at Arlington Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of Philadelphia third baseman Bob Aspromonte. Philadelphia starter Camilo Pascual was credited with the win after throwing 73 pitches over 6 innings. His record now stands at 2-0. The Stars, now 14-19, know that wins in May count the same as wins in September.
In the top of the third, with the game still scoreless, Aspromonte hit a run-scoring single to put his team in the lead.
"It was sure nice to get the win but there's a lot of baseball left," Aspromonte after the game.
