Chiwawas Get Past Padres 7-5 to Open R3
The Montreal Chiwawas started the Round 3 in style today, winning on the road against the San Diego Padres at Jack Murphy Stadium by a score of 7-5 to take an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Chiwawas right fielder Willie Keeler excelled. He was 3 for 4 with a triple and 2 singles.

Montreal used the bat of Dave Henderson to get the win. The center fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Chiwawas ahead, 4-1. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it did its damage.

"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Montreal manager Dan LaHousse.

Game 2 is scheduled for tomorrow at Jack Murphy Stadium in San Diego. The scheduled starters for the game are John Tudor for the Montreal Chiwawas and Jack Morris for the the San Diego Padres.
