| Matlack 'Lights Out' in Staten Island Win | Staten Island Ducks starter Jon Matlack was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Richmond Ghostriders, 4-1. Mark W Davis earned his 4th save in 4 chances. The Ducks bumped their record to 64-55 with this latest triumph.
Matlack made it look effortless. He scattered 3 hits over 8 innings, while racking up 11 strikeouts. The Staten Island left-hander encountered little resistance from the Richmond hitters. His season record is now 1-0.
"I thought we played a nice game," Matlack told the Staten Island News. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
