| Padres Lose, 5-3, at Connie Mack Stadium | Philadelphia Stars starter Pete Alexander pitched a strong game against the San Diego Padres at Connie Mack Stadium, leading the Stars to victory, 5-3. The Stars raised their record to 19-30.
Bob Aspromonte was 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for Philadelphia. In a tie game with two out in the bottom of the seventh, Aspromonte came through with a run-scoring single. It put the Stars in front, 3-2.
Alexander told a Philadelphia Bulletin reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
