Ambassadors Net 10-7 Win Over Cubs | The bat of Willie Mays helped the Pittsburgh Ambassadors top the Seattle Cubs, 10-7. Mays was 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 3 runs for Pittsburgh. Picking up the win was Clayton Kershaw. He went 5 innings, allowing 3 runs on 9 hits. The left--hander struck out 1 and walked 2. The Ambassadors improve their record to 37-45 with the win over Seattle.
It could have been a different outcome for Pittsburgh, had it not been for A J Pierzynski, the 37-year old catcher . Pierzynski contributed a grand slam home run in the top of the fourth inning to put Pittsburgh up, 7-3.
"You can never predict what'll happen," Pierzynski said. "That's why you play the game." | | | | |
