Clark Helps Yankees Win, 7-3, with Pair of Homers | A 5-RBI performance from the 29-year old first baseman Tony Clark helped the New York Yankees beat the Seattle Cubs, 7-3. Early Wynn picked up the win with 8.2 innings of work. He allowed 3 runs on 8 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 10. On the season, he is now 3-0. The win gives New York a record of 8-3.
Clark contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for New York in the bottom of the fourth. With his team trailing 3-1, Clark took a fastball from Happy Townsend and stroked the home run to center. His 2nd home run of the season allowed the Yankees to leap in front, 4-3.
