Jensen Hits for the Cycle | It is rare for players to collect a single, double, triple and home run in one game, so it's a special moment when it happens.
Jackie Jensen savored such a moment today, going 4-for-4 and hitting for the cycle against the Boston Pilgrims. Unfortunately for Jensen, that was all he could savor, as his Seattle Cubs lost the contest by a score of 11-8.
After the game, the right fielder was in no mood to talk about the hitting feat, calling it "pointless trivia."
"Nobody cares if I went 0-for-4 or 1-for-4 or 4-for-4," Jensen said. "11-8. That's the only line anyone around here cares about today."
Jackie Jensen singled in the 2nd, hit a GRAND SLAM off Roger Clemens in the 3rd, doubled in the 6th, hit a two-run triple in the 7th and walked in the 9th.
For the year Jensen is batting .237 with 9 home runs. | | | | |
