Yankees Knock Off Seattle, 6-2 | New York right-hander Denny McLain pitched his team to victory over the Seattle Cubs at Wrigley Field. The final score was 6-2. New York is now riding a 3-game win streak.
The Yankees got an important contribution from left fielder Bobby Veach, who in the top of the fifth knocked a 2-2 changeup into right for a 2-run home run. It was his 35th home run of the season and put the Yankees ahead, 5-1.
