Close Win Moves Pilgrims to 79-44 | Boston Pilgrims starter Al Mamaux was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Pittsburgh Ambassadors, 3-2. The Pilgrims bumped their record to 79-44 with this latest triumph.
A crucial at-bat came with a runner on 1st and two out in the bottom of the sixth inning. That's when left fielder Josh Hamilton, who finished 5th in the PBL in home runs with 39 in 1996, hit a run-scoring double. The Pilgrims went on to win.
