Big Day by Mays Ignites Ambassadors Win | Pittsburgh and Boston duked it out and the Ambassadors came out victorious.
Willie Mays made an impact in the 10-7 Pittsburgh win over Boston. Mays, who leads the PBL in extra base hits with 71, was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. Clay Bryant notched his 28th save in 32 chances.
Don Lock, who finished 5th in the PBL in extra base hits with 69 last year, aided the Pittsburgh cause with a run-scoring walk in the top of the second. For the game, the designated hitter was 1 for 4 with a walk.
"We played hard and won," said Mays. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'
